    Health Care

Ventures in People was the first to bring health care to the Mirebalais area, providing health care, immunizations, physicals, etc., to more than 400 people a day in "clinics" set up in schools, churches, houses and backyards. VIP realized early on that financing education for Haitians to become health care workers would provide ongoing care and create a growing base of medical personnel.

Working with Eye Care and later MARCH and City Med, there are now five 24-hour Emergency Clinics throughout the country, and two hospitals with 25-30 bed capacity. With help from doctors and other Health Care Specialists such as Nursing , X-Ray and Lab Technicians who serve as VIP volunteer workers in Haiti, the hospitals staffs are continually introduced to and taught how to use new equipment, enhancing their skills so they can help their own people.

Without medicine, all the food in the world won't help!
The truth is that we, as Americans, are quick to send food when we see a picture of starvation of a child. Yet, more children die of preventable illness every day because of a lack of simple medicines.

VIP, through its alliance with MAP (Medical Assistance Program) International, a 50-year old health organization that brings health & hope for a hurting world, provides medical packs of needed medicine to Haiti. $400 provides for one "Med Pack" with medications valued at $20,000 or more. If you wish to contribute toward this need write: For Med Pack on your Tax deductible check. Your gifts make the difference. The more donations we receive, the more Med Packs we can send to Haiti..........Thanks!

In 2008, after a devastating hurricane season, MAP International provided over $500,000 worth of antibiotics and other supplies to Haiti. VIP is proud to have been able to help in this humanitarian effort. Your donations provide for on going health care. Med Packs are "country specific" providing the most needed medications.
