    Ventures in People The Organization

Organized in 1979, Ventures in People Foundation, Inc., firmly believes it is the duty of we who have so much to help people like those in the neighboring Republic of Haiti who have so little. Thanks to the generous support of VIP's directors and supporters, VIP has been helping build the economy of Haiti and better the lifestyle of it's people for almost 3 decades - raising funds, donating materials, and working as volunteers in the country itself on a multitude of projects.

    VIP's Objectives:

    1. Help educate Haitians of all ages to become productive community and national leaders through: 1-Student Education Sponsorships and, 2-4-H Clubs
    2. Support a Goat project (promoting better breeding and care of goats).
    3. Provide Medications and Medical Supplies to hospitals and clinics in Haiti through MAP International (Medical Assistance Program).
    4. Provide Sun Ovens using solar energy for environmental conservation.
    5. Provide Potable water.
    6. Offer Volunteer Trips to experience the Haitian culture and provide services when needed.
    7. Have Dialogue with Haitian community leaders, educators, medical personnel and clergy to assess the needs of the people.
    8. Have Open Forums with other organizations working in Haiti.
    9. Be available for Presentations and Programs highlighting the work of Ventures in People in Haiti.

    Partners

Currently, VIP works with MARCH (Management & Resources in Community Health) in the Beaumont area. VIP has worked with Rotary District 6270 in Wisconsin to oversee projects and distribute finances for D6270 projects in Haiti. Projects included wells for clean water, solar ovens and water heaters.

    Volunteers

VIP is managed completely by volunteers including the Officers and Directors of the Board. All participants pay all their own expenses to travel and work with VIP. That's why, since VIP's inception nearly 30 years ago, 95% of every dollar raised has gone directly to where it was intended - to aid the people of Haiti through VIP projects.

VIP volunteers monitor work in cooperation with Haitian program leaders in education, agriculture and animal care, homemaking and cottage industries. Donations have included hospital beds, medical supplies, sun ovens, water pumps, fabrics and sewing equipment, school desks, garden tools, and sorely needed hospital equipment like anesthesia machines, X-Ray machines and processors, lab equipment, and baby scales.

As you'll see on the next few pages, VIP and it's contributors are helping the hardworking people of Haiti in many ways, but, there's just so much more to do!
